The Ruby Raptor was a highly customized rebuilt Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor starfighter that was modified and piloted by the Jedi Master Aceleus Draay from around 74 ABY onwards.
Characteristics
The Ruby Raptor began life as a standard Delta-7 the likes of which had not been seen commonly since the end of the Clone Wars. Aceleus Draay stumbled across the shattered remains of the fighter upon the planet Munulist. He scavenged every scrap of the remains of the fighter and began re-building the Delta-7 in the maintenance hangar in the Yavin Praxeum. Using old schematics and plans Aceleus lovingly restored the fighter back to its original working glory. However after several flight tests he realised that the fighter needed serious modifications to bring it up to current standards. However the Jedi Master further pioneered development upon the he Delta-7's performance, made extensive mechanical and aerodynamic modifications to enhance the starfighter's performance in order to suit his own tastes for speed, control, and manoeuvrability while in flight and in combat. Aceleus gave his fighter a complete new piant job, deciding to garb the whole fighter in a daring crimson colour from whence the fighter earned its name. To enhance the ships firepower he armed it with quad laser canons mounting two on the main hull and two at the edge of the mainframe that supported the folding wings. The laser cannons on the craft could fire either separately or simultaneously, and at such extreme angles off-axis that they could hit targets even as Aceleus passed them. He also installed two ion canons and two missile launchers with the capability of firing up to 16 proton torpedos of varying design. Other modifications included an increase to engine power, articulated stabilizer foils which extended outwards from the craft in fight mode and vectored thrusters and manoeuvrability flaps for increased maneuverability within realspace and atmospheres, as well as a pair of Novaldex J-77 "Event Horizon" engines boosted by a Turbo draft Quad drive, alongside a compact GBp-629 hyperdrive thrusters that provided hyperspace capabillity
