The Beginning[]
The Tau Empire was created in response to the galactic wide destruction incurred by both the Sith and jedi. Disgusted by the never ending philosophical wars wrought between the Jedi and Sith, a small force of both lightsiders and darksiders set aside there differences, and came together for the greater good. These force sensitives dubbed themselves something other than Jedi, Sith, or even Gray. They called themselves Tau. And so the Empire was born. The Emperor, or "Sovereign", Arcturus Sorrows by name, was quick to establish edicts and laws to govern the Tau. Being a lightsider, he himself set aside his doctrine, and put forth a single well known phrase, recited by Mace Windu. This phrase eventually became the very core of the Tau; the Tau didn't fight for the force. They stepped away from the force, to fight for civilization, for justice. For the greater good.
