The C/SV1 was a comm system developed for stealth and recon troops. It picked up words spoken in the throat and mouth without being said aloud. Coupled with this pickup was a text- and signal-based comm system for near silent communication between stealthed troopers.
The system consisted of a voice synthesizer mounted on the throat, with attachments that ran up along the user's jaw. It analyzed the movements of the vocal folds, jaw, and tongue to create an voice signal which would be transmitted via selected comm channels without actually being spoken aloud.
