115 ABY (Age 31)
Aileen Lasch was a human politician from Bakura.
Aileen became involved in politics in her late teens, while still in school. Due to her charisma and savvy, she rose quickly through the ranks of the ruling party. At various times in her twenties, she worked as an activist, held elective office, and received two diplomatic appointments.
Break With the PartyEdit
Over time, Aileen became concerned about her party's increasingly fascistic rule, and, after more than ten years as a prominent party member, left to join the opposition. She organized the people of Bakura against her former allies, and, in the next election, her party was defeated by only the narrowest of margins, amid accusations of voter fraud on the part of their opponents.
Three months after the election, Aileen was arrested on charges of sedition. Since the courts were appointed by her political enemies, she was quickly found guilty and sentenced to a lengthy prison term on Mytus VII. Aileen, however, had anticipated an event such as this, and, prior to her arrest, she and several party officials had contracted a team of mercenaries to free her if she were ever imprisoned, and take her to a safehouse where she could continue to lead the movement from off-planet.
Personality and TraitsEdit
Aileen had an energy and charisma about her that made her a natural fit for politics. She was nearly always genial and rarely lost her cool. On matters of public policy, however, she could be stubborn as a vornskr, and was known throughout Bakuran politics as an incredibly tough negotiator.
